Using Purchase Unit of Measure

Below are some basic setups that are available on the Replen. Setup page, the Integration FastTab, to use the Purchase Unit of Measure. The options are the following:

  • Purch. UoM Updates Multiple Field
  • Purch. Replen. Journal UoM Handling
  • Purch. Replen. Journal Quantity Warning

Purchase Unit of Measure Updates Multiple Field

This option is used to determine if the item's Order Multiple field and the Item Store Rec's Purchase Order Multiple field will be updated with the value setup for Qty. per Unit of Measure when the Purchase Unit of Measure is changed. The multiple fields will also be updated when the Qty. per Unit of Measure field is changed, if the quantity changed belongs to the Purchase Unit of Measure currently assigned to the item.
There are three options to choose from:

  • Never - the item's Order Multiple and Item Store Rec's Purchase Order Multiple fields will never be updated.
  • With Confirmation - users will be asked if they wish to update the item's Order Multiple and Item Store Rec's Purchase Order Multiple fields.
  • Without Confirmation - the item's Order Multiple and Item Store Rec's Purchase Order Multiple fields will always be updated.

Note: A field named Lock Order Multiple is available on the Replen. Item Store Rec page for the relevant Item Store Records to lock its Purchase Order Multiple from being updated when its Purchase Unit of Measure is altered.

Purchase Replenishment Journal Unit of Measure Handling

This option is to enable creation of a Purchase Order in a Purchase Unit of Measure. When the Purchase Order is created in the Purchase Replenishment Journal, the Unit of Measure will be changed from Base Unit of Measure to Purchase Unit of Measure, if the quantity ordered is in full multiple. For example, Purchase Unit of Measure is set to BOX and it is known that there are 50 PCS in 1 BOX. So examples of full multiples would be 50, 100 or 150 PCS since they are equivalent to 1, 2 or 3 BOXES. This setup consist of the below options:

  • Keep Calculated Base UoM - the Unit of Measure will be kept as it is and will not be converted.
  • Convert to Purch. UoM if Possible - the Unit of Measure will be converted to Purchase Unit of Measure if the quantity is in full multiple.

Purchase Replenishment Journal Quantity Warning

This option is to define if a warning will be displayed when a changed quantity in Purchase Replenishment Journal or Purchase Replenishment Journal Detail is not in full multiple. The setup consists of these options:

  • No Warning
  • Warn if Not Full Multiple
